âĪïļ (no spoil):
It's the opening of the very interesting The Shadow of Leviathan series. Whether the world setting or the main characters are all mesmerizing.
Early on may have been a little difficult to read, because he used the world-specific vocabulary in the first place without flooring, which felt like he was thrown into it immediately, so it took us a while to get used to it, but in other words, it allowed us to absorb the atmosphere and reach the world in the story quickly.
The most prominent part is the investigation, the case and the politics are very intense, the part that pins us to the punch, and it doesn't go dormant, because during the investigation it takes us to get to know the world, the power, and the characters, with the main character like "Dinius Cole" or "Clay" as an intermediary (so we're completely down, haha).
We actually started reading without knowing that it was a trilogy. Half the book had passed, but when we finished, it didn't feel as bad as we thought, because the main story of the book was pretty completely unraveled. At the same time, it opened up something else to find in the remaining two volumes.
