I’m learning that sometimes the problem isn’t Canva.
It’s that we’re opening Canva before we have a plan.
So now I use ChatGPT first.
Before I start designing, I ask ChatGPT to help me:
✨ Brainstorm simple digital product ideas
✨ Choose one idea and develop the theme
✨ Figure out what wording or information I need
✨ Plan what should go at the top, middle, and bottom of the design
Then I open Canva.
That one little change makes the process feel SO much less overwhelming.
For example, instead of opening Canva and hoping inspiration magically appears, try asking ChatGPT:
“Give me 10 simple digital product ideas I can create in Canva as a beginner.”
Pick ONE.
Then ask:
“I picked a birthday invitation. Give me 5 theme ideas and tell me what information should be included.”
Then:
“Create a simple layout plan for this birthday invitation. Tell me what should go at the top, middle, and bottom.”
Now when you open Canva, you’re not starting from zero.
You already have the idea, direction, wording, and layout plan.
