This is was my journey to becoming a nurse, and it can be yours too!
Step: Apply for an ADN program at a community college in your city/region
Step 2: While in school apply for federal grants, loans, and scholarships
Step 3: Pass your NCLEX
Step 4: Find a RN position (I just took a job in my city)
Step 5: Start a BSN program & have your job reimburse you for it!
This may not work for everyone, but it worked for me and I am currently a BSN, RN living debt free 💓🫧💉
~disclaimer I also worked full time throughout school to help pay my way without taking out to many loans~

Embarking on a nursing career can be an exciting journey, and doing so without debt is a goal many aspire to. To become a registered nurse (RN) debt-free, the first step is earning an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from a community college, making education more accessible and affordable. While studying, actively seek federal grants, scholarships, and loans tailored for nursing students; there are numerous resources available to lighten the financial burden. It's essential to prepare for the NCLEX exam, which is crucial for licensing. During your ADN program, consider gaining experience through part-time work in healthcare settings. This not only builds your resume but may also help pay for your education. Once licensed as an RN, look for positions that offer tuition reimbursement. Many employers provide financial support for continuing education, enabling you to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) without incurring debt. Remember, while this pathway has worked for some, it isn't universal. Each nursing journey is unique, and adapting your approach based on personal circumstances can lead to success. Engaging with online communities, like those found on Lemon8, can provide additional support and motivation as you navigate your nursing career while aiming for financial stability.
