Top 5 Tips for New Night Shift Nurses 🩺

Starting night shift was one of the hardest transitions I’ve made — mentally and physically.

Here are 5 tips I wish someone told me about night shift.

1) Nap before work (even if it’s just an hour).

2) Pack real food, not just snacks. I always bring a protein bar, dinner, and breakfast.

3) Hydrate like it’s your job.

4) Stretch + breathe during those long charting moments.

5) Protect your sleep — blackout curtains, white noise, the works. It’s not easy flipping your life upside down, but trust me, with time (and coffee), you’ll find your rhythm. You’re not alone in this!
