Why I Chose Step Down Nursing 💉

I didn’t stumble into step down nursing — I chose it. 💫

I wanted that middle ground: the challenge of critical care without the full on intensity of the ICU. In step down nursing I manage drips, interpret rhytms, catch early signs of decline, and STILL get to see patients recover! 💌

It’s the in-between that gets overlooked, but this is where the real growth happens. Every shift I learn so much and every shift is different. Step down is where I learned how to think of my feet, advocate harder, and trust myself more. My step down position made me the confident nurse I am today! 🤍
