How to Advocate for Patients as a New Grad RN🤍
Starting out as a new grad RN, one of the most powerful things you can do is advocate for your patients—especially when they can’t do it for themselves. Whether it’s questioning a med order that doesn’t look right, or just making sure your patient’s pain is actually being managed, speaking up is crucial. 🩺
I have advocated for my stroke patients many times when they have dysphagia because they can’t always express themselves appropriately. It’s not always easy, trust me. You might feel nervous or like you don’t have a voice since you are a new nurse. But trust me: your voice matters! 🤍
A lot of times patients are scared, exhausted, and unheard. Being their voice in that moment is what makes you a NURSE. 🫶🏼
