Pretty for a big girl....

My entire life I've been plus size, thick, overweight, chubby, obese whatever you want to label it. I have been the recipient of backhanded comments and compliments my entire life. My self esteem was shit, my self love was lacking as I was letting others dictate what I was. I wasn't truly me. Oct 2023 I had an epiphany after having a heart felt talk with one of my twins. Mom doesn't want to be pretty, accepted or loved by outsiders, mom wants to be happy, healthy and thriving for her family.
Currently working on me for me and mine. Self love is hard to learn after being conditioned to self hate for so long. EFF YOU SOCIETY STANDARDS.
In a world where societal standards of beauty can often feel limiting and discouraging, it is crucial to carve out your own definition of beauty. Many individuals, especially those who identify as plus-size, face backhanded compliments and negative comments regarding their appearance, which can deeply affect self-esteem and self-worth. It’s common to feel pressure to conform to conventional beauty ideals, but true beauty comes from within and is cultivated through self-love and acceptance. Recent discussions in the realm of body positivity emphasize the importance of embracing all body types and rejecting the notion that only slimmer figures can be considered beautiful. Campaigns promoting body inclusivity encourage everyone to appreciate themselves as they are, regardless of weight. Tools such as engaging in supportive communities and connecting with relatable voices online can empower individuals on their journey to self-acceptance. It’s vital to recognize that beauty is subjective and that what truly makes one appealing is confidence and authenticity. The shift towards loving oneself regardless of societal commentary is a powerful movement towards mental well-being. Practicing affirmations, surrounding oneself with positivity, and focusing on personal health rather than appearance can foster a healthier mindset. Ultimately, it is about living a balanced life that prioritizes happiness and fulfillment over societal validation. By re-identifying beauty and breaking free from conventional constraints, individuals can find strength, joy, and contentment in their own skin.
