Ways to support your belly in pregnancy
When pregnant, your belly can start to feel really heavy, especially in the 3rd trimester! Here are some ways you can support it to relieve some of the pressure!
1. Belly Band-
These wrap around your lower back and abdomen to gently hold your bump, easing pressure! They can help support the uterus and, if worn lower on the abdomen, can help pull the baby off the pelvis.
2. Kinesio Tape-
This is an easy way to give your belly a little support through pregnancy, without the extra compression or layers that wearing a belly bands requires!
3. Baby Wrap-
You can use a baby wrap, like Solly or Wild Bird, in the same way that you use a Belly Band to support your bump. If you already have one then no need to buy something new!
4. Being in water-
Being in a pool or bath makes you feel lighter and can give you some temporary relief. Bonus points if you add epsom salt.
5. Pillow while laying down-
When laying on your side you can get a small pillow to place under your belly to help support it.

During pregnancy, especially in the later stages, many women experience discomfort and heaviness in their bellies. It's essential to find strategies that provide support and alleviate pressure. In addition to belly bands and kinesio tape, consider using a baby wrap which can provide similar support. They are often adjustable and easy to use. Water therapy can also be incredibly beneficial; the buoyancy of water reduces strain on your joints while giving a feeling of lightness. Moreover, utilizing a small pillow underneath your belly while lying down can create a comfortable sleeping environment that promotes better rest during those critical months. These strategies not only help in alleviating physical discomfort but also enhance the overall pregnancy experience, making it more enjoyable and manageable. Always remember to consult with your healthcare provider before trying new support methods during your pregnancy to ensure safety.
