the older i get, the less chaos i can tolerate🌸
i used to think a full schedule, constant noise, and always being around people meant i was living life the right way.
but the older i get, the more i realize that calmness is a luxury worth protecting.
peace is sleeping without anxiety.
peace is not needing to prove yourself.
peace is being around people who do not make you question your worth.
peace is having a life that does not constantly need escaping from.
there was a time when i thought chaos meant excitement. now i know calmness is the real flex.
protect the routines, people, and places that make your nervous system feel safe.
save this for the reminder that peace is expensive and not everyone can afford to lose chaos.
what is one thing you protect your peace from now?

As I've journeyed through different phases of life, I've noticed a clear shift in what I value most. When younger, the thrill of a busy, chaotic life seemed like the best way to truly live; constant activity, packed schedules, and a noisy environment felt energizing and exciting. However, with time, I've come to realize that what I once saw as excitement was often just anxiety in disguise. The older I get, the more I appreciate calmness as a precious state of being—a luxury that truly is worth protecting. Calmness means much more than just the absence of noise; it represents a sanctuary where your mind can rest, free from the constant pressure to prove your worth or escape stress through distractions. In protecting calmness, I've learned to prioritize my routines, the people I spend time with, and the places I choose to frequent. These elements are the pillars of my mental health and well-being. It's not just about avoiding chaos but about creating an environment that nurtures a sense of safety and peace for the nervous system. One practical change I made was limiting exposure to social media and news that induce unnecessary anxiety. Instead, I fill my time with mindful activities like journaling, meditation, and walks in nature. These habits help maintain my peace, even when external circumstances are stressful. Additionally, surrounding myself with people who uplift rather than drain me has been crucial. Genuine connections that do not question my worth but instead appreciate me for who I am form the backbone of my peace. Reflecting on these experiences, I encourage others to recognize their own signs of chaos and evaluate what truly brings them peace. Protecting your peace is not selfish; it is necessary for a fulfilling and balanced life. Remember, peace is expensive—not everyone can afford to lose chaos, but those who choose calmness find a richer, more meaningful existence.

Of course, 100% agree. I love my kiddos but I’m not gonna lie that whenever I have some peace time. My house is silent no music or anything I just like to relax like that rarely I put classical music, orchestral or even read. It is something we need.
