Day Twenty & Twenty-one

Tuesday was day 20 and my second day in Whitehall working on their new mods and clearance for their remodel- I did well with the bribery and still no drinking yay! 😁 considering this project has been kicking my butt- I did manage to get a walk in on day 20 but not 21.

So day 21 I was throwing 8 foot steel shelving units (not small it’s like what Walmart has in their lawn and garden areas or large furniture areas for displays if they aren’t remodeled yet) and it was a bit much. I was so sore and over heated by the end of the day I called it and decided a walk probably wasn’t in my best interest after being outside and throwing heavy things so I counted that as the workout of the day- made it through the food bank in the nick of time- had my appointment with my dietician and everything is going well from that standpoint. After that got up and made just quick bean burritos with Spanish rice- cheese- salsa and chili flake oil and a cranberry kale salad from market side. Keep moving forward one day at a time till consistency equals results! #75glow #days20 #day21 #lemon8fitness #onedayatatime

On day 20, I managed a 2.5-mile walk that helped keep my activity consistent despite a hectic work schedule. Walking is a great low-impact exercise that aids recovery and boosts endurance. Day 21 proved tougher, as I spent significant time lifting large steel shelving units similar to those found in large retail stores, which is intense physical labor. Such activities contribute to muscle strengthening and caloric burn, acting as an effective workout itself. It's important to listen to your body during heavy exertion to avoid overtraining, which is why I skipped my walk and counted the lifting as my workout for the day. Nutrition plays a key role in complementing fitness efforts. Quick meals like black bean burritos with Spanish rice, cheese, salsa, chili flake oil, and a fresh cranberry kale salad provide a balanced mix of protein, fiber, and antioxidants. These nutrient-rich foods help with recovery and sustaining energy levels. Meeting with a dietician provides personalized guidance to optimize diet according to fitness goals, ensuring progress is sustainable. Consistency remains the key—taking things one day at a time and moving forward steadily leads to lasting results. Sharing this experience highlights the importance of adaptability and self-care when balancing work, exercise, and nutrition on a fitness journey.
