To join in on the #vanillascents challenge on here, here are my top three favorite vanilla scents I have in my collection. I’ll be honest I was never a perfume girly and especially not a vanilla one, but these scents changed my mind.
1: Pink’s Vanilla&Dream body mist. This perfume has the notes of fluffy vanilla, golden caramel, and coconut cloud. The original price was $16, but I got it on sale for $8. This one smells so good and is good to pair with other perfumes.
2: Indulgent Moments’ Cashmere & Vanilla. This perfume smells so good. I really like Indulgent Moments perfumes as they always smell so good and last as well. With notes of vanilla bean, almond blossom, jasmine petals, and sandalwood, this perfume is a great vanilla scent. I got it for $14 at TJMaxx.
3: Last but not least, Sol De Janeiro’s 62. With scents of pistachio, almond, jasmine petals, heliotrope, vanilla, salted caramel, and sandalwood, this perfume is a staple in my vanilla scents. This perfume gained so much popularity on social media and I didn’t want to give in the the hype but it definitely is worth it! It lasts a long time and I always get so many compliments when I wear it.
... Read moreI totally get the hype around vanilla scents! Just like the original post mentions, sometimes it just takes the right fragrance to convert you into a true vanilla lover. After falling in love with scents like Indulgent Moments Cashmere & Vanilla and Sol de Janeiro's 62, I've picked up a few extra tips and tricks that I wish I knew when I first started my vanilla fragrance journey.
First off, let's talk about those amazing Indulgent Moments finds, especially the Cashmere & Vanilla. This one truly lives up to its name with its cozy blend of vanilla bean, almond blossom, jasmine petals, and sandalwood. If you're hunting for it at TJ Maxx or Marshalls, my advice is to be patient! These stores often have rotating stock, so what's there one week might be gone the next. I've found that checking their beauty section regularly is key. Sometimes, you might even stumble upon other hidden gems from the same brand, like a 'vanilla bean and lavender' variant, which offers a slightly different, calming twist on the classic warm vanilla profile. These budget-friendly options are fantastic for building a versatile collection without breaking the bank. Don't be afraid to do a quick sniff test when you see something new, as you never know what delightful warm vanilla perfume you might discover next!
One common question I see is about making perfumes last, especially when it comes to body mists. While products like Pink's Vanilla & Dream body mist with its fluffy vanilla, golden caramel, and coconut cloud notes smell incredible, mists generally have less longevity than EDPs. My trick for making any vanilla scent last longer is to apply it right after showering when your skin is still slightly damp, and always moisturize first with a plain lotion or a matching scented one. This creates a base for the fragrance to cling to. For that extra boost, you can mist perfume onto your clothing, but be cautious! Always spray from a distance to avoid potential stains, especially on delicate fabrics. A light mist on your scarf or the hem of your clothes can help project the scent throughout the day.
Layering is another game-changer for vanilla lovers. The original post mentions Pink's Vanilla & Dream is great for pairing, and I couldn't agree more! Think about combining a light, sweet vanilla body mist under a richer, more complex vanilla EDP like Sol de Janeiro's 62, which is packed with notes like pistachio, almond, jasmine petals, heliotrope, vanilla, salted caramel, and sandalwood. This creates a unique, multi-dimensional scent profile that evolves throughout the day and makes your fragrance truly 'you.' Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for your skin chemistry.
Finally, for anyone diving deeper into warm vanilla perfumes, it's worth exploring the different facets of vanilla. Some vanillas are gourmand and sweet, like cotton candy, while others are rich, smoky, or woody, paired with notes like amber or musks. Knowing whether you prefer a 'fluffy vanilla' or a 'vanilla bean' can guide your search and help you pinpoint your next favorite. There's a whole world of vanilla out there waiting to be explored, whether you're looking for an everyday spray or a special occasion perfume. Keep an eye out for those TJ Maxx treasures and don't hesitate to try new combinations – you'll be surprised what amazing vanilla moments you can create!
