Dream Hackers & Neo Totems Hack Dream World
When 6 artists combine power, hack the dream world and create a new-age totem, "Dream Hackers & Neo Totems," an exhibition that invites us to break through imaginative boundaries with contemporary art, 🔮✨
This exhibition compares artists as "Dream Hackers" or "Dream System Piercers" who use art as a Totem, connecting energy, memory, and identity to create a new, limitless world, and interpreting the totem as a contemporary symbol, not just of the original sacred, but of characters, games, anime, or mascots that reflect digital age beliefs and values, all of which make the exhibition an artistic experiment that connects past, present, and future together in fresh ways.
The exhibition showcased works from 6 artists of 6 nationalities: Izzy Faith V (Australia), Yuta Tamura (Japan), Susiyo (Indonesia), Nuno Raminhos (Portugal), CHRIIXX (Philippines) and Flowskull (Thailand).
🎨 Izzy Faith V (Australia) created a modern mythology in a sci-fi pop tone, praising women's strength through surreal imagination and a new dimension of women's power.
🎨 Yuta Tamura (Japan) conveys Japanese myths and values with low-relief clay techniques in an 8-bit pixel format, creating a world that powerfully combines anime, games, and traditional art, both reflecting proficiency in hard-to-copy techniques.
🎨 Susiyo (Indonesia) uses symbolic reality popser works such as mojo-headed children, bizarre creatures and objects that come back to life, conveying local beliefs, faith and Indonesian political history, along with inviting viewers to a world of freedom and the paradox between truth and dream.
🎨 Nuno Raminhos (Portugal) conveys courage and heroism in everyday life, with comedic painting works that interpolate magic, poetry and a war atmosphere.
🎨 CHRIIXX (Philippines) uses surreal as an emotional record, conveying hope and mind power through glowing light, whether it's the Guardians of Light or The Light Keepers reflecting on their struggle with darkness and embracing relationships with people who help heal the "inner light."
🎨 Flowskull (Thailand) creates a parallel universe like Skull City filled with skull characters, a world of death that becomes a new starting point. Both Bone City, Ani-Skull City and Skull Bot City reflect their journey of identity search and fear encounter through easy-to-reach but profound pop art symbols.
"Dream Hackers & Neo Totems" is not only the title but the core of the exhibition, where each artist acts as a dream explorer, creating an unconstrained surreal world; every work is a virtual contemporary totem that reflects the identities, beliefs and values of each artist in the digital age world, but connects art to cultural meaning and endless interpretation.
