Beyond Festivity Because Christmas Slows Down Walking Time❄
When Christmas is the time that slows down life than ever, "Beyond Festivity," an exhibition that takes us to look at Christmas through a slower, gentler, deeper time by a winged whale 🎄✨
Christmas is one of the most universal festivals in the world, no matter what culture we live in, the images of lights, gifts, snow simulations, and music of the festival convey the same meaning that it is time to celebrate. This festival invites us to allow ourselves to take a break. That may be why people around the world have been waiting for this festival unchanged over the years. ❄️
And if Christmas isn't just a festival of glittering lights, Santa Claus or familiar music, what will we miss? This question is the first door at the "Beyond Festivity" exhibition, which invites us to explore the story of Christmas through the views and experiences of seven contemporary artists: Tum Ulit, faan.peeti, katangg, 2an., May & Clay, Pou Rawiwan and PYH, who choose to tell Christmas in their own way, whether it's the joy of coming home, the warmth of the family, the memory of a person who has no chance to celebrate together again, or the simple joy of being with himself. 🏡
In addition to the artist's work, the exhibition also has a fireplace installation for us to take pictures, a Christmas meaning card writing event, and a Christmas-themed art workshop for us to do. 📮🎨
The centerpiece of the exhibition lies in the simple idea that Christmas slows down the time to walk, slows down until we have time to look at the specimens that have not been looked at for a long time, slows down until we have the opportunity to experience small pleasures that may fall away during life that rotates too fast. 🕰️
"Beyond Festivity" does not invite us to find the meaning of Christmas from anyone, but opens up space for us to discover its meaning in our own way. Maybe at this event we find that Christmas doesn't need snow, doesn't need expensive gifts, or even festive music, but it may only be a short time when our hearts rest, think, breathe, and become ourselves again. 🤍

เทศกาลคริสต์มาสถือเป็นช่วงเวลาที่ไม่เพียงแต่เต็มไปด้วยแสงสีและบรรยากาศแห่งความสุข หากยังเป็นโอกาสให้เราหยุดเวลาและกลับมามองอย่างลึกซึ้งกับความหมายของความสุขในชีวิตประจำวัน ด้วยนิทรรศการ "Beyond Festivity" ที่ลานกิจกรรม ชั้น 5 หน้า B2S เซ็นทรัล ปิ่นเกล้า เป็นตัวอย่างที่ชัดเจนของการสร้างพื้นที่ให้คนไทยได้สัมผัสและขบคิดถึงการใช้เวลาในช่วงคริสต์มาสอย่างช้า ๆ สงบ และเต็มไปด้วยความรู้สึกอบอุ่น นิทรรศการนี้นำเสนอผ่านผลงานศิลปินร่วมสมัย 7 คน ที่ต่างสะท้อนภาพและความรู้สึกในแบบของตัวเอง ทั้งความสุขของการกลับบ้าน, ความอบอุ่นจากคนในครอบครัว, และความทรงจำถึงคนที่จากไปแล้ว เหล่านี้ล้วนเป็นจุดร่วมที่ทำให้เทศกาลคริสต์มาสกลายเป็นช่วงเวลาที่เหมาะสมในการพักใจและเชื่อมสัมพันธ์อย่างแท้จริง หนึ่งในไฮไลท์ที่น่าสนใจของงานคือ installation เตาผิง ที่นอกจากจะสร้างบรรยากาศคริสต์มาสแบบอบอุ่นแล้วยังเป็นมุมถ่ายรูปที่ทุกคนสามารถเก็บภาพความทรงจำได้ นอกจากนี้ยังมีกิจกรรมเขียนการ์ดความหมายคริสต์มาสและเวิร์กชอปศิลปะ ทำให้ทุกคนมีส่วนร่วมในการสำรวจและสร้างความหมายใหม่ ๆ ของเทศกาลนี้ในแบบฉบับของตนเอง ความพิเศษของ "Beyond Festivity" คือการสื่อสารว่า คริสต์มาสไม่ได้จำกัดอยู่ที่หิมะหรือของขวัญราคาแพง แต่เป็นเวลากับความหมายที่เราเลือกจะให้แก่ช่วงเวลานั้น ที่ทำให้ใจเราได้หยุดพัก ได้คิด และกลับมาเป็นตัวเองอย่างแท้จริง ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่หลาย ๆ คนต้องการในยุคที่ชีวิตหมุนเร็วอย่างทุกวันนี้ สำหรับใครที่อยากลองมาหยุดช้าและสนุกสนานกับเทศกาลคริสต์มาสแบบใหม่ ๆ นิทรรศการ "Beyond Festivity" เปิดให้เข้าชมฟรีแล้ววันนี้ถึง 14 ธันวาคม 2568 ตั้งแต่เวลา 10.00-21.00 น. ที่เซ็นทรัล ปิ่นเกล้า ห้ามพลาดสำหรับผู้ที่รักศิลปะและต้องการค้นพบความหมายของคริสต์มาสที่ลึกซึ้งและแตกต่างออกไป
