Chiangrai Contemporary Art Museum (CCAM) The area was developed to encourage Chiangrai to become an art city and a hub connecting local and international artists, audiences and the art community.
The uniqueness of CCAM is its distinctly coupled white and black buildings, which are designed as architectural symbols that reflect the identities of the two great artists of Chiang Rai, namely Master Chulimchai Voritpiphat (Turquoise Temple), the representative of the "White Tower," and Master Villai Index (Black House), the representative of the "Black Tower." The two architectures are therefore a dialogue duo that connects Chiang Rai's art history wriggling with the contemporary art context of today.
Within CCAM's space are rotating exhibits. There are also cafes, museums, workshops, activity spaces and art workshops open to all ages in the family, getting involved with the arts variously.

ถ้าเสิร์ชหา “หอศิลป์เชียงราย” หรือ “พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยเมืองเชียงราย” แล้วลังเลว่าจะไปดีไหม เราว่า CCAM เป็นจุดแวะที่เหมาะมาก โดยเฉพาะคนที่อยากเปลี่ยนโหมดจากเที่ยววัด/คาเฟ่ มาเป็นเดินดูงานศิลป์แบบสบาย ๆ ใช้เวลาไม่ต้องทั้งวันก็เก็บไฮไลต์ได้ครบ สิ่งที่เราชอบคือที่นี่ไม่ได้มีแค่ห้องแสดงงานในอาคาร แต่มีงานกลางแจ้งและสถาปัตยกรรมให้เดินเล่นด้วย ภาพจำของหลายคนจะเป็น “อาคารขาว-ดำ” ที่ตั้งคู่กัน ซึ่งเป็นกิมมิกที่เชื่อมโยงศิลปะเชียงรายแบบเป็นสัญลักษณ์ พอเดินเข้าไปจะได้ฟีลมิวเซียมร่วมสมัยจริง ๆ ทั้งพื้นที่โล่ง แสงธรรมชาติ และผนังขาวที่ทำให้งานเด่นขึ้น โซนที่ถ่ายรูปเพลินมากคือโครงสร้างไม้ไผ่สาน/ทางเดินโค้งที่แสงส่องผ่านแล้วเกิดลวดลายเงาบนพื้น (ช่วงแดดอ่อน ๆ จะสวยสุด) อีกจุดคือประติมากรรมทรงกลมกลางแจ้งที่มีรายละเอียดวัสดุสีสันและของตกแต่งเล็ก ๆ ให้ยืนดูใกล้ ๆ ได้สนุก เหมาะทั้งสายถ่ายรูปและคนพาเด็ก ๆ มาหากิจกรรมเบา ๆ ทริปของเราแนะนำวิธีเดินให้คุ้มแบบนี้: เริ่มจากห้องนิทรรศการในอาคารก่อน (จะได้ดูงานแบบตั้งใจช่วงอากาศเย็น) แล้วค่อยออกไปเดินงานกลางแจ้ง/สถาปัตยกรรมไม้ไผ่ ต่อด้วยแวะคาเฟ่และมิวเซียมช็อปเป็นการปิดท้าย ถ้ามีเวลาน้อย ใช้ประมาณ 1.5–2 ชั่วโมงกำลังดี แต่ถ้าชอบอ่านคำอธิบายงานหรือถ่ายรูปหลายมุม อาจเผื่อ 3 ชั่วโมงแบบไม่รีบ ทิปเล็ก ๆ สำหรับคนอยากไปแบบสบาย: ใส่รองเท้าที่เดินง่าย เพราะมีโซนทางเดินและพื้นที่กลางแจ้งหลายจุด พกหมวกหรือร่มถ้าจะเดินข้างนอกนาน ๆ และลองไปช่วงเช้าหรือบ่ายแก่ ๆ แสงจะสวย ถ่ายภาพได้ละมุนกว่า แถมคนไม่แน่นเท่าช่วงเที่ยง ข้อมูลพื้นฐานที่ควรรู้ก่อนปักหมุด: พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะร่วมสมัยเมืองเชียงราย (CCAM) เปิดอังคาร–อาทิตย์ 09.00–17.00 น.
