If warmth no longer needs to come from humans,
Is the relationship between humans and humans still necessary? "Synthetic Soul," an exhibition that invites us to question the relationship in a world where technology does not just connect people, but begins to become listeners, understanders, and emotional dependents on humans together by Faozee Narathip.
The exhibition tells a story through the "masked boy," a representation of vulnerability, isolation, and self hidden under an ethereal connection, with a Surrealism visual language that uses symbols like masks, orbits, stars, and semi-machine human bodies to speak of loneliness, the need for acceptance, and desire to be understood in an age when technology is deeply involved in human emotions.
"Synthetic Soul" questions the relationship in the future world, both between humans and humans, that begins to be replaced by impersonal connections, between humans and technology that become both friends and dependent, including belief in an age when faith is replaced by information and accuracy.
This exhibition does not try to determine whether technology is the answer or the problem, but invites the audience to revisit their own relationships. The key question may not be whether technology can replace humans, but whether we are in need of a real relationship, or simply want the feeling that we are not alone in an increasingly quiet world every day.
