Anthropologie - Temple Art
As contemporary art goes in to explore the unstoppable memories, beliefs and history in the temple area of Suphan Buri, "Asañakaya - Asaññakaya" exhibitions inviting questioning what we once believed to be sacred.
"Body" comes from the Pali language, meaning a promised body, or a condition in which perception, memory, and classification of meaning cannot be completely tied to the original meaning. The exhibition therefore invites the audience to consider the metaphysics of meaning in a sacred space, when the temple is not just a place of ministry, if it is an area in which history, beliefs, local narratives, and contemporary life constantly overlap.
The "Sacred Spaces Project" is organized under the Sacred Spaces Project. It showcases the work of 16 artists: Mani Boonma, Prasad Kam Light, Sirvich Sindaranon, Bun Stone, Sweet True, Warrior Mulmanus, Sachrokorn, Arrow, Kwan Suthang, Nwin, Golden Rat, Panphan, Mani, Karin, Intuition, Love Stacking, Vachranth Siravat, Kanchana Shulsuvat, Tawatuya, Sakrin, Soft Network, and the range of artists. Have read the temple area through different perspectives, historical, social, belief, object, and trace of time.
Each work is a fragment of a "contract-free figure," which relies on the audience's walking, looking, and questioning to reconstruct meaning, so the appeal of "science" is not just the diversity of artistic approaches, but the respectful and critical introduction of contemporary art into the temple space simultaneously. The work does not drown out the sanctity if it allows the audience to see the hidden dimensions of the temple as an area of life, memory, and transition.
