In Bangkok Design Week 2026, Bang Lampu-Khao is one of the main areas of the exhibit, and one of the highlights is "New World Mall," a building that was the center of the economy before it was abandoned, and today resumes its role as a community storytelling area through design and art that connects the past with the present of Bang Lampu.
Inside New World Mall, the exhibition "8 + 1 Circuit of Stories" deciphers the stories of eight communities around Bang Lam Phu through memories and narratives from the area, through the work of five groups of designers and artists who use real space to reinterpret art, mechanics, videos and sculptures.

▪️ Maiyrab by Wisdom Pong - Animated Sculpture that uses a mechanism and weighted system, creating movement with little energy, questioning the survival and adaptability of the neighborhood.
▪️ So we beat on, borne back ceaselessly into the past. By Jirawut Ueasungkomsate - Save the traces of labor who drove New World Mall through the remaining items. Firefly light that slowly extinguished, likening to the sound of a little people fading.
▪️ Stories Path: A Circulation of Memories in Bang Lam Phu Neighborhood by Atom Pavarit x MY MAYO x Chickenmew - Installation Art from a sheer curtain open to free walking, images of architecture, labor trajectories and mechanic work appear fuzzy and move with the wind.
▪️ Photos, Memories and Some Changing Lam Poo by Na Dol x Sonjai House - Photo and video projection documenting the pace of life of some Lam Poo before the change, questioning the past, present and future of the neighborhood.
▪️ SALAD KHAEK by Sharif x Kanzi x Danish x Ashrof - A semi-sacred space that recounts religious diversity, through lockets from goldsmith craftsmen in Muslim communities, as a vessel of faith and coexistence.
In this work, New World Mall is like a part of the content. Every work works with the state of the building, the deterioration, the emptiness and the memories embedded in the area, and then walks, listens, observes and asks what Bang Phu used to be, what it is and what it will become.

นอกจากนิทรรศการหลักที่จัดแสดงภายในห้างนิวเวิลด์แล้ว ยังมีเรื่องราวเบื้องหลังของอาคารแห่งนี้ที่น่าสนใจมาก ห้างนิวเวิลด์เคยเป็นศูนย์กลางเศรษฐกิจและการค้าของย่านบางลำพูมาก่อน ก่อนจะถูกทิ้งร้างและค่อยๆ สูญเสียบทบาทไปตามกาลเวลา การนำอาคารเก่ามาปรับใช้เป็นพื้นที่ศิลปะ ถือเป็นการสื่อถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างอดีตและปัจจุบัน ที่สะท้อนถึงความเปลี่ยนแปลงของเมืองและชุมชน เทคนิคศิลปะที่ใช้ เช่น การเคลื่อนไหวของประติมากรรมระบบตุ้มถ่วงน้ำหนัก หรือการจัดวางภาพถ่ายและวิดีโอที่แสดงชีวิตและวิถีของผู้คนในย่าน ช่วยกระตุ้นความรู้สึกและความทรงจำของผู้เข้าชมอย่างลึกซึ้ง นอกจากนี้ยังมีการสร้างประสบการณ์ที่ทำให้ผู้ชมได้เดินเล่นในพื้นที่ศิลปะที่มีม่านผ้าโปร่งลมพัดผ่าน ซึ่งทำให้บรรยากาศเหมือนความทรงจำที่เคลื่อนตัวและเลือนรางไปตามช่วงเวลา ที่สำคัญคือการสะท้อนถึงความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมในชุมชนมุสลิมผ่านงานศิลปะที่เชื่อมโยงศรัทธาและความร่วมมือของชาวบ้านในย่าน การเข้าชมนิทรรศการนี้ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นการชมผลงานศิลปะ แต่ยังเป็นโอกาสให้เราได้ตั้งคำถามและเข้าใจการเปลี่ยนแปลงของบางลำพูว่าในอดีตที่เคยเจริญรุ่งเรืองนั้นเป็นอย่างไร ปัจจุบันกำลังเผชิญอะไร และในอนาคตจะมีบทบาทและความหมายอย่างไรต่อสังคมเมือง หากคุณสนใจเรียนรู้ประวัติศาสตร์และวัฒนธรรมที่ถูกร้อยเรียงไปกับงานศิลปะในบรรยากาศเก่าแก่ของห้างนิวเวิลด์ ห้ามพลาดที่จะไปสัมผัสประสบการณ์จริงในงาน Bangkok Design Week 2026 ที่จัดขึ้นถึงวันที่ 8 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นี้ โดยมีค่าบัตรเข้าชมเพียง 10 บาทเท่านั้น รับรองว่าจะได้รับความประทับใจและมุมมองใหม่ๆ ที่สะท้อนชีวิตและความทรงจำของชุมชนบางลำพูได้อย่างลึกซึ้ง
