"THAIPOGRAPHY," Reclaiming the Power of the Thai Alphabet through Contemporary Art, Innovation and Identity
The Thai alphabet has been a century-long inherited cultural element, but at the same time has adapted to the digital world, online communication and the tide of globalization, making it not just a wording but a motif, spatial structure, cultural code and form of expression that transcends the limits of literal meaning.
"THAIPOGRAPHY," a group exhibition that explores the power of the Thai alphabet, typographic design, and language as a "living symbol" that contains identity, memory, and emotion through the interpretation and design of 15 artists ADD Peerapat, Aphist Sid, Artsaveworld, BAMBAMMS, Beejoir X Gong, BLACKBUZZ, Kanrapee, Komsan Phetsit, LuckyLeg, Naraphat, Sakarthornsap, Natnapat Kullananant, PHAYANCHANA, Sornchai Phongsa, Teerapon Sisung, and Creative Tunlaya, which re-interpreted the Thai alphabet and reinterpreted the Thai alphabet.
The exhibition begins with the important question of how language shapes people's experiences and identities, and whether we can also design a new language to reflect the times, and takes us to explore the role of letters that do not just "tell meaning," but become traces of the audience's experiences, memories, and experiences.
