Hidden Track, when forgotten remnants of memory become the secret theme song of life.
When forgotten memories become the secret song of life,
"Hidden Track," an exhibition of collage that turns the remnants of memory into a new dialogue between time, city, and the forgetful self, by Perivat Anantchina.
Collage Art is the art of editing scraps, publications, or objects and creating new meanings from the original. For Pariwat Anantchina from Pariwat Studio, collage is not just an artistic technique, but the preservation of memories through what people leave behind - family photo albums, old documents, or forgotten vintage materials.
The "Hidden Track" exhibition brings together collage works from several projects that have been on display in Tokyo, Osaka, Shenzhen, Arles, Milan and Bangkok before being brought back "remixed" in installation form inside d KUNST Art Space and Cafe.
The main inspiration comes from DJ Culture, or music mixing culture, which overlays and creates new rhythms, just as artists rearrange images, old paper, materials from previous works, and personal collections.
Inside the exhibition are digital collages, analog works, and object art based on publications, toys, and personal collections, each like "Hidden Track," or a secret song at the end of an album, works that may not be the most famous, but hide as many details, memories, and feelings as possible.
The appeal of this exhibition is to show us the value of "imperfect things" and explore our own Hidden Track, things that were loved, interested, or happy before being gradually forgotten over time, like some songs that we haven't listened to for a long time, but when we hear it again, we always feel connected.
