Blind Spots: Transforming Space and Vision into the Experience of the Hidden
When the "folding scene" is not just responsible for dividing space, it is hiding memories, feelings, and something that cannot be seen all at once.
"Blind Spots: Panels, Paravents and Screens," an exhibition that turns space, vision and painting into an experience of what is hidden by artists, literature and curators by Stefano Rabolli Pansera.
Inside the exhibition are paintings that do not try to record images of the world truthfully, but work with "traces" of perception, whether they are images of a gradually fading person, a blurry atmosphere, or empty spaces filled with obscure feelings, so artists create a distance between identity and image instead to open up space for the audience to interpret through their own experiences.
The main interest of the exhibition is the adoption of Paravents as both a surface for art and an architectural structure. These folding scenes serve to create a "Blind Spot," or a blind spot, partially obscuring it to reveal another area, so that the audience cannot see everything at the same time, but must gradually walk, explore and perceive the image through changing distance, time and perspective.
This exhibition invites us to question vision, memory, and what remains inside the mind through images that seem to be constantly fading away.
