If "Suphan Buri" is a scene in the childhood anime, what will we see the city look like?
"Supan," an exhibition that turned Suphan Buri Province into an anime world of memories, teenagers, growth, and narratives of the people of the city, by Preecha, love.
"Supan" takes us back to explore the province of Suphan Buri, through the eyes, memories and life experiences of people through a group of youth from alternative schools. The works speak of people's lives through ordinary periods of daily life, both living after school, sports rehearsals, spending time together by a group of friends, to the atmosphere of a provincial city in a quiet, full time of growth. These are transmitted through the cartoon and animated visual language that artists have loved since childhood, to become a way of telling stories of Suphan Buri province in angles that are both warm, surreal and full of nostalgia.
The works inside the exhibition are characterized by clean sharp lines, bright flat colors, and visual language elements of 90s-2000s anime that make each image feel like a scene in the coming-of-age manga or cutscenes. In animation, we get to see both fresh colored skies, lonely city scenes, teenage characters, as well as ordinary areas that are transformed into areas of dreams, memories, and imagination.
In addition to the narratives of ordinary people's lives, the exhibition also reinterprets the narratives of Suphan Buri Province. Characters like "Moon" and "Mangrai" from the historical opus "Suphan Blood" are reconstructed in a cartoon visual language and a contemporary fantasy world, making historical narratives interestingly connected with contemporary visual culture and the memories of a new generation.
The appeal of this exhibition is that the artist does not describe Suphan Buri as a tourist city or postcard memory, but through the relationships, friendships, vulnerability, and feelings of teenagers searching for themselves, so we may feel like looking back at a moment in our lives through warm, lonely, fun, nostalgia.

จากประสบการณ์ที่ได้เข้าชมนิทรรศการ ‘สุพัน’ ที่ The Corner Shop ชั้น G ห้างเซ็นทรัลชิดลม ต้องบอกเลยว่านี่เป็นโอกาสดีที่เราได้เห็นภาพเมืองสุพรรณบุรีในมุมที่แตกต่างอย่างสิ้นเชิง ไม่ใช่แค่เมืองเก่าธรรมดาที่หลายคนอาจมองข้าม งานศิลปะในนิทรรศการนี้นำเสนอด้วยลายเส้นแบบมังงะยุค 90s-2000s ที่คุ้นเคยตั้งแต่เด็ก ทำให้รู้สึกเหมือนได้ย้อนเวลากลับไปดูการ์ตูนที่เคยดูในวัยเยาว์ ซึ่งทำให้เรื่องราวของเมืองมีความสดใสและเต็มไปด้วยชีวิตชีวา แม้จะถ่ายทอดภาพความเงียบเหงานิด ๆ ของเมืองชนบทก็ตาม อีกสิ่งที่ประทับใจคือการตีความใหม่ของตัวละครจากประวัติศาสตร์ท้องถิ่น เช่น “ดวงจันทร์” และ “มังราย” จากเรื่อง “เลือดสุพรรณ” ที่ถูกผสมผสานเข้ากับโลกแฟนตาซีและวัฒนธรรมร่วมสมัยได้อย่างลงตัว ทำให้ความรู้สึกของการเติบโตและความฝันของเยาวชนยุคใหม่ผสมผสานกับรากเหง้าทางประวัติศาสตร์ได้อย่างน่าสนใจ นิทรรศการไม่ได้เน้นแค่ภาพสวยงามเท่านั้น แต่เล่าถึงมิตรภาพ ความเปราะบาง และการค้นหาตัวตนของวัยรุ่น ผ่านกิจกรรมง่าย ๆ หลังเลิกเรียน เช่น การนั่งเล่น ซ้อมกีฬา หรือใช้เวลาร่วมกับเพื่อน ๆ ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความอบอุ่นและ nostalgia ที่หลายคนสามารถเชื่อมโยงได้ โดยรวม ‘สุพัน’ เป็นงานที่เปิดมุมมองใหม่ให้กับภาพลักษณ์ของสุพรรณบุรีได้อย่างลึกซึ้งและมีเสน่ห์ ใครที่ชอบอนิเมะและสนใจวัฒนธรรมท้องถิ่น หรือต้องการย้อนความทรงจำวัยเด็กไม่ควรพลาดที่จะไปสัมผัสความรู้สึกนี้ด้วยตัวเองก่อน 4 มิถุนายน 2569 นี้
