"Linear Text of Delirious Time 2" and "Pillars of Creation" explore two exhibitions that invite us to look at the "chaos" and "invisible structures" of the world through contemporary painting at the Matdot Art Center.
"Linear Text of Delirious Time 2" by Nisar Hossain, an exhibition that takes us to explore a world full of madness, war, environmental crisis, violence, and capitalism that is devouring people. Everything is told through images of humans and animals that are gradually turning together until the lines of identity and reason become fuzzy. The artist's work is full of accelerating, messy, uncomfortable acrylic lines on a completely black background, making the whole picture look like it's constantly moving. Some look like nightmares, some like a reflection of the real world we live in every day.
As the exhibition "Pillars of Creation" by Sandra Saradesi takes us to the other side of the world through 16 paintings that talk about certain structures or energies that connect life, consciousness and the universe, the artist uses the alcohol ink technique on Yupo paper, a technique that is rarely seen in Thailand. The colors inside the work gradually flow, overlap, and form naturally, until they form energy waves, fog groups, or organic shapes that are emerging. This series does not have straightforward storytelling, but opens up space for people to gradually perceive through color, movement, and color. Feeling that happens while looking at work
Although both exhibitions use very different visual languages, they talk about the same in different ways, one reflecting external turmoil, the other talking about internal structures that may be sustaining humans, and both seem to be inviting us to see the world on different sides, confused, broken and balanced.
