But it may be only the "shadow" of identity that we have forgotten.
"Echoes of Us" by Mathisha Pong is wise.
An exhibition that turns fuzziness, ambiguity, and semi-dreamy quasi-reality into a space of exploring emotional and personal "residues" through a painting that seems to be shaking between the past, the present, and another dimension that cannot be explained by reason alone.
The works inside the exhibition are filled with female figures, shadows, stairs, solid closed rooms, smoke, dust, and dim light that seem to be slowly swallowing everything into the same atmosphere. The bodies in the image are not presented as obvious "persons," but resemble memory images that are decaying, being both human beings, ghosts, memories, and reflection of ourselves at the same time.
Artists use overlapping painting techniques, releasing paint, scraping and scraping paint surfaces while they are not dry, until they form a texture like fog, smoke, or dust perched on the canvas, making the whole image look like it is "moving," so we look at a certain state that is gradually appearing and fading together.
The exhibition does not use horror in a typical horror way, but chooses to speak of mystery as a space of imagination, belief, and feeling that the modern world is trying to push away. Under a tone of black, gray, dark brown, and seemingly unsourced light, every element serves as a vestige of time that remains in the space.
Let's explore the vestiges of fuzzy memories, beliefs, and identities at the "Echoes of Us" exhibition, and we can find that the mysteries we see may be just the reflection of ourselves that remains in the midst of time.

จากประสบการณ์การเข้าชมนิทรรศการ ‘Echoes of Us’ ที่ Joyman Gallery ทำให้ผมได้เห็นว่าศิลปะสามารถถ่ายทอดความรู้สึกที่ลึกซึ้งและซับซ้อนของตัวตน ผ่านภาพวาดที่ใช้เทคนิคซ้อนทับและการปล่อยสีที่สร้างความเคลื่อนไหวในภาพแบบหมอกควัน ความรู้สึกเหมือนจ้องเข้าไปในเรื่องราวที่เลือนรางแต่เต็มไปด้วยความหมายนี้ ทำให้คิดถึงความลี้ลับที่ไม่ได้แค่หลอกหลอน แต่เป็นการสะท้อนด้านในของเราเองที่อาจลืมหรือไม่เคยสังเกตมาก่อน สิ่งที่ประทับใจคือการใช้โทนสีหม่นอย่างดำ เทา น้ำตาลเข้ม และแสงสลัว ทำให้นิทรรศการดูเหมือนไม่ได้มีแค่ภาพ แต่เหมือนเข้าไปอยู่ในบรรยากาศกึ่งจริงกึ่งฝัน ที่เต็มไปด้วยสง่าราศีของความทรงจำและความเชื่อที่เก่าแก่ โดยเฉพาะภาพของร่างผู้หญิงและเงามืดที่สร้างความรู้สึกถึงการอยู่ร่วมระหว่างอดีต ปัจจุบันและมิติที่ลึกลับ สำหรับคนที่ชื่นชอบการสำรวจจิตใจและมุมมองศิลปะเชิงลึก นิทรรศการนี้ถือเป็นพื้นที่ดีที่ได้หยุดคิดและไตร่ตรองว่า “สิ่งลี้ลับ” ที่เราเห็นอาจไม่ใช่เรื่องน่ากลัว แต่มันคือร่องรอยของตัวตนและความทรงจำที่เราลืมไปในเวลาที่ผ่านมา การได้ชมผลงานพร้อมกับการสัมผัสบรรยากาศภายใน Joyman Gallery ทำให้รู้สึกว่าเราได้เชื่อมโยงกับด้านในของตนเอง และเข้าใจความหมายเชิงลึกของความลี้ลับในมุมใหม่อย่างแท้จริง จึงอยากแนะนำให้ผู้ที่สนใจศิลปะร่วมสมัยและเรื่องราวทางอารมณ์เข้าไปสัมผัสด้วยตัวเองก่อน 31 พฤษภาคม 2569 เพราะเป็นประสบการณ์ที่หาได้ยากและเต็มไปด้วยแรงบันดาลใจในการมองโลกและตัวเองผ่านทางงานศิลปะที่ละเอียดอ่อนและเปี่ยมด้วยพลังนี้
