"REGULAR ART," an exhibition that changed conspiracy theories, and pop culture.
When Eliane, the surreal world and the Internet meme became a representation of this generation's lives that were funny, weird and lonely at the same time.
"REGULAR ART," an exhibition that turns conspiracy theories and pop culture into a strange surreal world. By BYBAMBAM
BYBAMBAM, or Sujña Thong, an artist whose signature is clear from the use of bright colors, semi-cartoons, and surreal worlds in storytelling, her work seems to be full of internet culture cuteness and fun, but looking deeper, it hides some of the loneliness, strangeness, and vulnerability beneath those colors.
In the "REGULAR ART" exhibition, artists take conspiracy theories as a precursor, before reinterpreting them through their own unique visual world, whether UFO, being kidnapped by Elians, surreal creatures, or humans with similar distorted shapes falling out of their dreams and meme cultures on the Internet.
The appeal of "REGULAR ART" is that BYBAMBAM's work seems to be a cute cartoon at first glance, but the longer it looks, the more strange, lonely and nostalgic it feels, something hidden under those colors, so we not only look at the fantasy world or the most disturbing cartoons, but also explore the fragility, alienation and small confusion that occur in everyday life through images and cultures from the Internet world that we are very familiar with.
Let's explore the surreal world where conspiracy theories are reinterpreted in BYBAMBAM at the "REGULAR ART" exhibition.
