"50 Years, Department of Thai Arts," an exhibition that traces the development of the Department of Thai Arts, the School of Painting, Sculpture and Prints, the University of Art, through works of art that reflect the legacy of cultural roots, along with contemporary creation.
The exhibition was held on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Thai Department of Arts, which was founded in 1976 with the idea of learning Thai art not only to preserve the original pattern, but to understand the "essence" of Thais through royal mechanics, vernacular works, folk arts and beliefs before bringing it into line with the context of each era.
The exhibition shows works that show us a place that connects the past, the present and the future through the molding of traditional knowledge with a contemporary perspective to a work that retains its cultural roots and opens up space for Thai art to move on non-stop.
