Now that Magic: The Gathering is finally here, I had the chance to attend the media night and give you a glimpse of what to expect at the event. Upon arrival, you’ll head over to the Welcome Deck Pick-Up station to collect your free card deck and, if you’re a first-timer, learn how to play with the help of their friendly on-site guides.

From there, you’ll find tons of interactive elements inspired by the set. You can pick up a newspaper-style playmat and a comic book, and there are plenty of fun photo ops throughout. I especially loved how immersive the experience felt. It truly felt like stepping into a slice of New York City in Spider-Man’s neighborhood.

What you need to know:

• Free entry, no badge required

• Dates are from July 24-27th

• Time is from 10am-5pm (10am-4pm on Sunday)

• Located at the Legends Ballroom at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego
