1.) Joshua Tree 🌞
We stopped in Pioneertown, an old Western movie set turned quirky desert stop with vintage charm. It’s really hot out during this time, so I recommend going later in the day.

3.) Big Bear 🌲
The next morning, we drove to Big Bear and rented kayaks at GETBOARDS in Boulder Bay. It’s calm, beautiful, and dog-friendly! 🐶 If you’re traveling with pets, you can bring your dog on the kayak as well. Just bring your own life vest or buy one at the shop for $8.
We’re incredibly lucky to live in San Diego, not only do we have beautiful beaches, but we’re also just one to two hours away from the desert and nature escapes.
