Located in Barrio Logan is a true local gem, @sewloka, a community-driven studio where you can learn to sew and create pieces from scratch, like lounge pants, tote bags, zipper pouches, and more 👖👜🪡. Founded by Claudia, who learned to sew from her dad, a denim designer, the studio features designs inspired by her cultural heritage and Chicano identity, all within a welcoming space centered on slow fashion, creativity 🎨, and connection. We had a chance to talk to Claudia, and she has the best energy. Very inviting, funny, and passionate.

Depending on the workshop or lesson, you’ll start by choosing your fabric 🧶, and from there, Claudia walks you through everything step by step, including how to use the sewing machine ✂️🪡. You can choose from group workshops or one-on-one lessons. Classes run every few days, so support a local business and create something you’ll feel proud wearing 💫.
