JEON SOMI EDIT 🤍
my first JEON SOMI edit, how'd I do?
Hey fellow Somi stans and K-Pop enthusiasts! Seeing my first Jeon Somi edit get some love motivated me to share a bit about my editing journey and how you can create your own amazing Somi edits too. It’s such a fun way to celebrate our favorite idols and express creativity! When I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed with where to begin. The absolute key is often inspiration and having a clear vision. I spend a lot of time watching Somi's music videos, stage performances, and even behind-the-scenes content to find those iconic moments and perfect clips. Think about what story you want to tell or what vibe you want to capture – is it powerful Somi owning the stage, cute Somi with her infectious smile, or a mix of everything? Gathering high-quality source material is the first big step, and it really makes a difference in the final output. For tools, like many other fan editors, I rely heavily on CapCut. It's fantastic for mobile editing and has so many user-friendly features that are perfect for K-Pop edits. Seriously, if you're not using it, give it a try! Start with the basics: cutting clips precisely to the beat of your chosen song. Music synchronization is absolutely everything in K-Pop edits – it brings the whole piece to life. Play around with CapCut's speed ramps to create dynamic slow-motion or fast-paced effects that highlight Somi's choreography or expressions. Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of transitions; a smooth dissolve can be elegant, but sometimes a sharp cut is exactly what you need for impact. Beyond just cutting and syncing, think about the visual aesthetic and how to make your edit truly pop. CapCut offers a ton of filters, adjustments, and effects. I love playing with saturation, contrast, and brightness to make Somi’s visuals stand out. Sometimes, I even create custom color grades using the HSL tools to give my edits a unique mood or to match a specific concept. Experiment with overlays and visual effects – a subtle glitter, a light leak, or a VHS effect can add so much magic and personality. My personal tip? Don't overdo it! Sometimes less is more, letting Somi's natural charisma and the quality of your chosen clips shine through. Also, don't forget sound design! Adding sound effects like whooshes or impacts can dramatically enhance the viewing experience. What truly makes an edit stand out is your personal touch and creativity. What moments of Somi truly resonate with you? Is there a specific era, outfit, or concept you adore? Incorporating those personal favorites will make your edit feel authentic and unique. I also love looking at what others in the K-Pop editing community are doing on platforms like TikTok or Instagram for inspiration, but always try to put my own spin on it rather than just copying. It's about finding your own style. Once your masterpiece is ready, don't be shy about sharing it with the world! Use relevant hashtags like #jeonsomi, #jeonsomiedit, #kpopedit, and #capcut to reach a wider audience and connect with other fans. Getting feedback, even constructive criticism, is a huge part of the learning process and helps you grow your skills. Remember, every editor, no matter how skilled they are now, started somewhere. My first edit was far from perfect, but with practice, you'll see huge improvements. Keep experimenting, keep creating, and most importantly, have fun celebrating Jeon Somi and her incredible talent!
