MeMadeMay Day 21

I'm wearing my Ginkgophyte tee from PomPom Spring 2019. When I tell you this shirt was a labor of love, I mean it. It was the most complex project I had ever done at the time. I struggled with the yarn, and it took me about a year to finish it finally. But I love the way it came out and I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it.

Each handmade piece carries a story and reflects the skill of the maker. Engaging in such projects not only fosters a deep connection to the clothing we wear but also supports sustainable practices. By choosing handmade over mass-produced attire, we contribute to a more ethical fashion industry. The craftsmanship involved in creating unique garments can take time, as illustrated by my experience with the Ginkgophyte tee, highlighting the importance of patience and creativity. As we embrace opportunities like MeMadeMay, we encourage budding crafters to take on their own sewing or knitting projects, no matter how complex they may seem. Remember, the end result is often a labor of love that brings immense satisfaction and pride.
