Primitive War - The Million Years World War

When the soldiers had to fight the dinosaurs, this was a clear childhood dream movie. Descent would blow up the mountains, burn down the huts. I thought the movie was a celebration.

Primitive War (2025) is an action-sci-fi-horror film from director Luke Sparke (owner of Occupation, Beyond Skyline).

It is based on Ethan Pettus' novel that has been praised as a "brutal version of Jurassic Park."

And this time, Sparke filled the madness with a $7 million grant, but managed to build a Vietnam War scale against dinosaurs beyond expectation.

Synopsis In 1968, in the middle of the Vietnam War, a special combat unit, the Vulture Squad, was sent into the deep jungle to find missing soldiers, but what they found was not an ordinary enemy....

But it's a herd of cannibal dinosaurs caused by a secret Soviet experiment in the Vietnamese jungle since the movie didn't waste time explaining.

It feels like bumping "Predator" into "Jurassic Park." The fight and boot scene is full of fun and gory.

The biggest strength of Primitive War is "raw entertainment without thinking," the shooting scene with the dinosaurs at the top of every shot, and this dinosaur is very sticky, frankly, the explosion, the blood, the roar, the CGI, may not be 100% perfect, but it seems to be done with a heart rather than a budget, and it's done very well.

We've seen a lot of animals, Deinonychus, Utahraptor, Spinosaurus, T-Rex.

In total, it should exceed 10 kinds. It's called "heavier than any franchise that still dares to play big." It's mixed with a VHS-era monster movie that older movie fans will be familiar with.

The sound is composed of very classic American drums and strings, and R-rated brutal scenes, such as limb scenes or blood spatter, are full of practical effects, frightening and wavy, scary, not shy of big movies from Hollywood studios.

Although it is fun, "chapter and narrative rhythm" is the most stumbling, there are some plot holes, so that some parts lack power.

Many military characters are also typical war movie formulas, but some have accidentally dropped out of humor because of their exaggerated seriousness.

Primitive War is a movie that "knows exactly what it wants to be."

It's not trying to be Jurassic Park or The Lost World.

But it's "a power crazy movie that wants people to enjoy watching dinosaurs tear people apart."
