Five Below Stationary Finds 😃

I was excited to get a few things at 5Below. Tried them out once I got home.

1. Custom Stamp: comes with the letters, the stamp and tweezers.

👍Pros : small so easy to take with you. The ink is good and it shows up nicely on paper.

🤔Cons: takes a moment to get your letters on so best if used when you have time.

2. Stamp Markers: two sided markers. A fine tip and shaped.

👍Pros : the markers are ok. The ink is visible and they’re easy to write with.

🤔Cons: the stamps are cute but not all come out. I found the smiley faces weren’t great. They are pretty saturated so they bleed.

3. Liquid Gel Pens: these I loved! There are 12 colors.

👍Pros : fine tip, 13 colors, bright, and No smudge!

🤔Cons: no black and they bleed a bit.

I liked the stamp for when I’m journaling. The pens I’d buy again. The stamp markers I’d probably not repurchase.

... Read moreBeyond the initial haul from Five Below, I’ve got some extra tips and thoughts on making the most of your budget stationery finds, especially if you're into journaling, crafting, or just love a good pen! Let's dive deeper into the Custom Stamp Kit. While it might take a moment to arrange the letters, I’ve found a few tricks to speed things up. First, planning out your phrase beforehand on a scrap piece of paper helps immensely. For repetitive stamping, like personalizing envelopes or creating gift tags, it’s a total game-changer. I even saw a cute rainbow-themed case for some kits, which adds a fun touch to your desk! For journalers, this custom name stamp kit is perfect for adding consistent headers or decorative elements. Don’t forget to press firmly but evenly for the best impression. Now, those Stamp Markers. While some shapes, like the smiley faces, didn't quite live up to expectations, the concept of double-ended stamper markers is still fun! I've learned that for the best results with the multi-shaped stamps, it's often better to dab them lightly on a separate piece of paper first to remove excess ink, especially if they're very saturated, to minimize bleeding. The fine-tip felt markers on the other end are generally reliable for outlining or adding small details. They’re great for adding a quick pop of color or a little motif to your notes without too much effort. Consider using them on thicker paper to prevent bleed-through. My absolute favorites were the Liquid Gel Pens. Seriously, finding a pack of 12 count liquid gel pens that are bright and, most importantly, "no smudge" (mostly!) at that price point is a win. Even without a black option, the vibrant selection of 12 colors – from purple to various blues, greens, pink, orange, browns, yellow, and red – offers plenty for creative projects. I’ve found these are fantastic for coloring books, jotting down colorful notes, or adding emphasis in my planner. The fine tip allows for intricate details. A trick I use to completely avoid any bleeding is to let the ink dry for an extra second before touching it, especially if I'm layering colors. When shopping for stationery at Five Below, I always keep a few things in mind. First, check the ink flow right in the store if possible, or at least read reviews. The packaging can be deceiving! Second, consider what you'll primarily use the items for. If it’s for casual doodling, the slightly less perfect items are fine. But if you need precision for important tasks, you might want to test them thoroughly. And finally, don’t be afraid to mix and match! Some items will be hits, others misses, but that’s part of the fun of budget-friendly finds. Happy stationery hunting!
