my Udo Island day trip ❀˖°
decided to do a little day trip to Udo Island and was hoping for good weather… thankfully the sun was out yay!!☀️
getting there was straightforward. we took the ferry from Seongsan Port ~ ferries run every 30 mins and the ride itself was about 10–15mins. once we arrived, we rented e-bikes from one of the rental shops right near the entrance of the island. i 100% recommend getting one because it makes getting around Udo so much easier 🚲 you can cycle along the coast and stop whenever you feel like exploring or taking photos which is what we did!
our first stop was Cafe HUNDERT WINDS (훈데르트윈즈), a super chill cafe tucked away in a quiet corner of the island. the view from the cafe was so pretty! we ordered a glass of hallabong juice and an iced vanilla latte (both were good) and shared a piece of peanut cream bread + another pastry that i sadly can’t remember the name of…i’d give the pastries a 7/10 overall ~ the ambience of the cafe was definitely the highlight ☕️
after that, we continued cycling along the coastline and stopped at Geommeolle Beach (검멀레해변). it’s small but scenic! you have to walk down a flight of stairs to reach the shoreline. the black sand is formed by volcanic rock and was really striking against the blue skies. it was a bit unfortunate to see quite a bit of trash around the area though :(
after more cycling, we stopped by Haha Hoho Cafe (하하호호 카페). the staff were really friendly + helpful and spoke good english! we ordered the Jeju garlic & black pork burger with a side of fries and it was so yummy… 9/10. for drinks, we got a peach iced tea and a vanilla latte, yummy too 🥤
by around 4:30 pm, we cycled back to the rental shop to return our bikes and caught the 5pm ferry back to Jeju. i’d definitely love to come back during a different season! 🌤️

「済州島 フェリー」で調べている方向けに、私が実際に城山港→牛島（Udo）へ日帰りで行ったときの流れをもう少し具体的にまとめます。初めてでも迷いにくいポイントを中心に書きますね。 まず、牛島行きフェリーは城山港（Seongsan Port）から出ていて、私が行った日は約30分間隔で運航していました。体感としては“本数が多い＝計画が立てやすい”ので、日帰りでもかなり動きやすかったです。移動時間は片道10〜15分ほどで、想像よりすぐ着きます。海の上の時間が短いぶん、船酔いしやすい人にも安心材料だと思いました。 当日の動き方としておすすめなのは、「午前中に城山港→牛島へ渡る→島内を電動自転車で周遊→夕方に戻る」のシンプルな形。牛島に着いたら入口付近にレンタルショップがいくつもあって、私は電動自転車（e-bike）を借りました。これは本当に借りてよかったです。海沿いの景色がきれいな場所で気軽に止まって写真を撮れるし、暑い日でも体力を温存できます。 フェリー利用で気をつけたいのは、天候で体感が変わること。晴れの日は最高ですが、風が強いと甲板は意外と冷えるので、薄手の羽織りがあると安心でした。あと、帰りの時間は「乗りたい便の少し前にレンタルを返す」ようにすると焦らずに済みます。私は16:30頃に自転車を返して、17:00のフェリーで済州島に戻りました。 島内の過ごし方は、海が見えるカフェを1〜2軒はさむのがおすすめです。私はHUNDERT WINDS（훈데르트윈즈）でハルラボンジュースとバニララテを飲みつつ、海が見える席でゆっくりしました。次に立ち寄ったGeommeolle Beach（검멀레해변）は黒い砂が印象的で、階段を降りていくアプローチも“探検感”があって良かったです。軽く歩くので、動きやすい靴だと快適です。 最後に、済州島フェリーで日帰り旅をするなら、「フェリーの本数が多いからこそ、島内は欲張りすぎない」のが満足度を上げるコツだと感じました。電動自転車で海沿いを走って、気になった場所で止まって、カフェで休む——これだけで牛島らしさを十分楽しめました。
