I tried painting flowers.
yeah not my best at all. #lemon8diarychallenge #flowers #painting #newbiepainter
Hey everyone! So, you saw my little flower painting attempt, and yeah, like I said, it wasn't my Mona Lisa, but honestly, that's okay! As a newbie painter, I’ve found that the joy is truly in the process, not always the perfect outcome. I just wanted to share a bit more about my journey and hopefully inspire other beginners out there to grab some paints! When I decided to try painting flowers, I was looking for something forgiving and fun. Flowers are perfect for that! You don't need to be super precise; even stylized shapes can look beautiful. For this particular attempt, I just grabbed my black spiral-bound notebook and some acrylics. I love using a notebook as my canvas because it feels less intimidating than a blank canvas, and if it doesn't turn out, well, it's just a page in my practice book! I started by sketching out some simple circles for the flower heads and lines for the stems. For these purple blooms, I mixed a few shades of purple and light purple for the petals. Don't be afraid to experiment with color! I dabbed the purple on, creating those stylized petals you see, then added a pop of yellow for the centers. Getting those vibrant green stems and leaves in was the next step. I even tried speckling the black background with a bit of white paint to give it some depth, which I think added a nice touch. One of the biggest hurdles for me, and I bet for many beginner artists, is that inner critic. You look at your work and think, 'Ugh, not my best!' But painting, especially when you're just starting, is all about learning and exploring. It's about getting comfortable with your brush, understanding how colors mix, and finding your own style. My goal wasn't to create a hyper-realistic garden painting; it was to simply enjoy the act of painting flowers. If you're thinking of trying your hand at easy flower painting, here are a few tips I've picked up: Start Simple: Don't aim for complex bouquets right away. Focus on one or two simple flower shapes. Experiment with Color: Don't stick to just one shade of purple or red. Mix them up, add white for highlights, or black for shadows. Don't Fear Imperfection: Your 'mistakes' often lead to unique styles. Embrace the journey! Use Accessible Materials: You don't need expensive supplies. A basic set of acrylics, a few brushes, and even a notebook can get you started, just like I did with my purple flowers on the black notebook. Find Inspiration: Look at real flowers, photos, or other artists' work, but always add your own twist. Painting these stylized purple flowers really brightened my day, even if I still have a lot to learn. It’s a wonderful way to relax and unleash a little creativity. So, if you're a #newbiepainter looking for an easy project, give flower painting a try! You might surprise yourself, and even if it's 'not your best,' it's still *yours*.

the idea was better in my head.
