Pet Shops to visit when you’re in BKK

Recently, there have been a lot of pet owners in Singapore, especially during when covid hits. Most of us Singaporeans like going to Bangkok .

So, I've put together a list of some cool pet shops for you. Feel free to jot down your travel plans!

📍Peta Pet Shop - BTS Siam

📝: Peta Pet Shop is compact yet well-placed kiosks WITHIN BTS stations - yes, you heard that right - situated inside the train station, requiring you to pass through the gantry. Alternatively, you can alight from the train, do some shopping, and then proceed on your journey. But don't miss their larger stores, like the one at Ekkamai Gateway Mall (and definitely explore the mall as well—it's quite delightful with numerous Japanese shops and dining options). 🛍️

📍Trail and Tail

Address: 95 Soi Prommit, Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110, Thailand

📝: All in one service at one place - With the area of 6,400 square meters, this venue provides full facilities for your little friends to hang out, such as indoor and outdoor dog parks, a pet hotel with 24-hour caretakers, and a pet-friendly restaurant/cafes for both human and your pup. Worth a visit even if your dogs are not with you! 💯

📍Moggie Doggie Pet Shop

Address: Trail and Tail

📝: Moggie Doggie Pet Shop, which comes with the slogan "Everyday is Happy," is a store that sells premium products for dogs and cats, including food, treats, toys, clothes, and unique products from Local Designers. ✨

📍Dogkery Cafe@Trail and Tail (ด็อกเกอร์รี่ คาเฟ่)

Address: Trail and Tail

📝: Dogkery Cafe, a cafe for dogs that offers snacks and healthy food 🐾

📍Chatuchak Weekend Market & JJ Pet Market

Address (Chatuchak): sections 8, 9, 11, 13, and 15

Address (JJ Pet Market): RH22+W3M, Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand

📝: When it comes to the Chatuchak/JJ Pet Market, I wouldn't suggest spending your time searching for dog-related items, especially clothing. The selection isn't as much as it used to be before the COVID-19 pandemic. You'd be better off shopping on Taobao or Shopee for these products.🤣

📍The Pet Safari ICONSIAM (they have quite a few outlets)

Address: 299 B1 Floor 106. Charoen Nakorn Road, Khlongtonsai, Khlongsan, Bangkok 10600, Thailand

📝: Imagine Singapore’s Pet Safari… yes but in wide selection of Thai pet products.😅

... Read moreIf you are planning a trip to Bangkok as a pet enthusiast, there are a few extra tips I’d like to share from my experience that can elevate your visit. While the main shops like Peta Pet Shop and Trail and Tail offer fantastic products and services, exploring some lesser-known spots and local markets can also be rewarding. For example, the Chatuchak area, although currently not the best place for pet clothing as noted, still remains a cultural must-visit market for a variety of pet accessories and unique items that you might not find in regular stores. It’s also an excellent opportunity to see how locals shop for their pets and pick up some handmade treats or toys. Many travelers I spoke with also found it helpful to combine visits to these pet shops with nearby attractions. For instance, after visiting Peta Pet Shop at BTS Siam, you can explore the nearby malls like Ekkamai Gateway Mall, which offers a great mix of shopping and dining with a Japanese flair. Furthermore, the Dogkery Cafe at Trail and Tail is a delightful spot where you and your dog can relax and enjoy snack options catering to pets. This adds a social side to your trip, connecting with other pet owners and getting recommendations firsthand. Don’t forget to check opening hours and whether appointments are needed, especially for pet hotels or special facilities within these shops, as things can sometimes change post-pandemic. And if you want an extensive selection similar to Singapore’s Pet Safari, The Pet Safari at ICONSIAM is a Thai version worth visiting with its wide range of local pet products. Overall, blending the shopping experience with cultural exploration and pet-friendly dining makes for a truly memorable Bangkok trip for any pet lover. Be sure to bring a camera—some shops and cafés offer great photo opportunities with adorable pets!
