DIY Summer Candles 🕯️
Started making homemade scented essential oil, candles, and honesty is one of my new favorite hobbies that I picked up. This one is an ocean scented candle made with soy wax and I got the molds and everything for them. It smells amazing and honestly, I love that I can put as much essential oils I want so I can make the candle strong or soft scented. How do you guys think I did for my first time making a candle?

Creating DIY candles at home has become an increasingly popular hobby, especially during the summer months. Not only do these scented creations enhance the ambiance of your space, but they also serve as thoughtful, homemade gifts for friends and family. Essential oil candles, like the ocean-scented candle featured in this guide, can be customized with a variety of scents to match your personal preferences or the mood of the occasion. To start your candle-making journey, gather your materials: soy wax, candle molds, essential oils, and wicks. Soy wax is favored as it's a natural, renewable resource and burns cleanly, making it a better choice for your home environment compared to paraffin. When selecting essential oils, consider blends that evoke the vibrant essence of summer, such as citrus, coconut, or ocean breeze, which can energize your space. Experimenting with different oil concentrations will help you fine-tune the scent to your liking, whether you prefer it to be subtle or strong. Safety is paramount when working with hot wax. Make sure to heat the wax gently, using a double boiler to prevent scorching. Allow the wax to cool slightly before adding your essential oils to ensure the fragrance retains its potency. Once poured into molds, let your candles sit undisturbed until fully set—typically for several hours or according to instructions for your specific wax type. Once your DIY summer candles are ready, light them up to enjoy their beautiful glow and delightful scents, transforming your living space into a summer paradise!
