# Still under the ownership of the Hundred Thousand Family Elephant Bank

The Khao Yai Elephant Conservation Center delivered a 53-year-old "broken star" elephant into the hundred thousand family elephant bank system, systematically moving forward the master of caring for aging elephants.

On December 1, 2025, reporters reported that the teacher of the Diocese of Vivapanat, Vivapanat, or Teacher Odd, of the Royal Pagoda Temple, Chiang Mai Province, had delivered the female elephant family "crumbling stars" to the Khao Yai Elephant Conservation Center, Khoi Si District, Pak Chong District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, to be supervised under the accurate conservation and restoration system of old elephants.

The star is the 23rd rope elephant in the "Hundred Thousand Elephant" group, which has been redeemed from heavy use in the tourist industry and is maintained in the health of the Hundred Thousand Elephant House, Mae Melon District, Chiang Mai Province, to continue to improve physical and behavioral conditions. Teacher Odd revealed that according to the elephant ticket, the star is about 53 years old, in the beginning of the aging elephant, needing proper nutrition, health and environmental care, and close psychological care.

According to Teacher Odd, the delivery aims to allow the elephant to serve as an "elephant teacher," transmitting the knowledge and experience of elephant behavior and care for old elephants to children, youth and citizens who come to learn at the Khao Yai Elephant Conservation Center, as well as receive continuous health monitoring from the veterinary team and the Hundred Family Elephant Bank Project staff.

Co-promote research and create a national Thai elephant learning center.

The Khao Yai Elephant Conservation Center was founded on Thai Elephant Research under the support of the Thai Elephant Research and Conservation Fund, Major General Chuyavan Foundation, with Dr. Ongat Chu Kaew as a key driver to build a sustainable conservation base through learning, community engagement, and raising awareness for youth.

Inside the center is a Thai elephant ecology learning area and an "elephant school" on display for learners to study anatomy deeply. In addition, the center supports large animal rescue missions in various areas with personnel and life support equipment.

The world's first "Hundred Thousand Elephant Bank" is a systematic model of elephant life support.

Odd, the Royal Pagoda Temple, who is a professor at the School of Social Sciences, the University of the Crown College, the Lanna campus, has founded the "Hundred Thousand Elephant Bank," marking the beginning of the World Elephant Day as the beginning of the project, the world's first elephant bank, aimed at saving the lives of heavily used, neglected or sick elephants and providing a sustainable safe place to live.

The project establishes strict elephant care criteria, such as whether the caregiver must own the elephant in accordance with the law or have a power of attorney. The place must have a suitable area. Must make a monthly report on the health and well-being of the elephant. Do not use the elephant illegally, such as do not work hard to cause harm to the welfare and welfare of the elephant.

The delivery of the Hundred Thousand Stars is a prototype of collaborative learning between Khao Yai Thai Elephant Conservation Center, Hundred Thousand Elephant Bank and related sectors to materially enhance the quality of life and welfare of Thai elephants.
