Prom 2024! I was wanting like a rustic farm background and luckily my uncle let me and my friends take pictures at his place! 🥰

... Read morePlanning my Prom 2024 photoshoot was almost as exciting as the prom itself! I really wanted something different from the usual studio backdrops, and that's why a rustic farm setting felt like the perfect choice. Luckily, my uncle generously let my friends and I use his beautiful property, which had everything from weathered barns to sprawling grassy fields and a mature tree that made for incredible shots. When it comes to prom poses, especially in an outdoor, rustic environment, the key is to look natural and have fun. We started by exploring the farm to find the best spots. The old, rustic barn door was a goldmine for pictures. For individual shots, I loved leaning casually against the barn, looking over my shoulder, or even just walking away from the camera, letting the beautiful prom dress and corsage stand out. Don't be afraid to experiment with your hands – placing them on your hips or gently touching your hair can make a pose feel more dynamic. Group poses are essential for prom! We had so much fun with these. One of my favorite group poses was just walking together in a line through the grassy field, laughing and talking, which captured such genuine moments. Another great idea is having everyone huddle together, looking at each other, or doing a fun jump shot if your dresses allow! We also tried posing in front of a wooden fence, with some of us sitting and others standing, creating different levels in the photo. Even though we were already dressed, we recreated some of those playful moments, like one friend pretending to help another adjust her necklace or checking her makeup.
