When making this dish, the key is balancing the ingredients to create a hearty and savory broth. The use of red palm oil not only imparts a vibrant reddish color but also adds a distinct earthiness and richness that complements the cassava leaves perfectly. For the protein, goat meat provides a robust and slightly gamey flavor, making the soup very satisfying. Including salmon fillet and shrimp introduces a delightful seafood twist, enhancing the complexity of the dish. To bring all these flavors together, adding shrimp Maggi seasoning cubes is a common practice; they contribute umami and depth while intensifying the overall taste. A useful tip is to simmer the soup on medium heat for about five minutes before stirring, as this allows the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken nicely. You can enhance the texture further by blending cassava leaves with meat stock or water to achieve the desired consistency. Adding meat stock is optional but recommended if you want a richer, more flavorful soup. Sharing this dish with family or friends not only celebrates cultural heritage but also offers a comforting meal that’s perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re making this soup for the first time or refining your approach, remember that patience and quality ingredients are your best allies in preparing this traditional pot full of tradition and flavor.

Oh my I can smell if thru the screen😍😍😍 It’s a bit too liquid for me, I know every country makes their own version a tad different from others. My parents (from two different west African countries) tend to make theirs on the drier side (meaning, removing most, not completely all, the dark green liquid left in the pot)
