What are your July goals? Please share.

As a nurse and health coach my July goals are simple:

🧘 Smile more: Smiling increases mood-enhancing hormones while decreasing stress-enhancing hormones, including cortisol, & adrenaline.

🧘 Move more: Moderate movement can help boost mood, improve self-esteem, & decrease stress, anxiety, & depression.

🧘 Enjoy more: Take the time to notice more of the small things & enjoy the simple pleasures in life to be happier & more productive.

... Read moreJuly is the perfect month to reset and focus on personal goals that can transform your well-being. To start, consider incorporating mindfulness into your daily routine. Mindfulness practices, such as meditation or deep breathing exercises, can enhance your ability to smile more, which in turn increases the production of mood-enhancing hormones like serotonin. Additionally, regular movement is crucial; whether it's a brisk walk, yoga, or dancing, finding an activity you enjoy can naturally uplift your spirits. Setting realistic goals is key. Think about how you can integrate small changes into your everyday life. For instance, aim for short bursts of activity throughout your day or take moments to appreciate the beauty in your surroundings. Engaging with nature has been shown to reduce stress and improve overall happiness. Social connections are also essential for personal fulfillment. Share your goals with friends or join a community of like-minded individuals on platforms like Lemon8, where you can exchange ideas and support each other in achieving your aspirations. Participating in discussions about your goals with others can provide motivation and inspire creativity. Lastly, remember to celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Each step forward is significant, and acknowledging your progress can reinforce your commitment to your goals. What are you waiting for? Embrace July and make it a month of growth and positivity!
