When I first heard that we were getting another installment of Life is Strange, I was initially excited. Not only another LIS game, but we return to the girl who started it all, the awkward photo need Max Caufield? Why wouldn't we go crazy over the news?
But I am a person who is wary about sequels because these days, they don't actually continue the story in a meaningful way, and often feel like a cash grab milking the fanbases' nostalgia. Unfortunately, Double Exposure feels exactly like that. Maybe it's because we don't get much in the trailers, but it feels like a completely different story to the original LIS game, not because of the plot, but because the whole vibe is off. LIS2 and True Colors feels like they belong in the same universe as LIS even with the totally different plots and characters, but Double Exposure feels like any other supernatural murder mystery with a familiar character thrown in.
Speaking of familiar character: Max does not look like Max. Some fans say that she does, but I don't see it. In trying to make Max look older, they've made an entirely different model that doesn't look like Max, she just looks like a woman who happens to have short brown hair (I don't think she even has the same eye color as the original Max; she definitely doesn't have her same freckles!) Some fans argue that people's look change during a decade, but that's not exactly true. Maybe my face is a little sharper now than when I was in high school, but I would still be recognizable. The only times this argument would work is when the person had a major "glow up" or drastic weight change and cosmetic surgery. Max doesn't seem like the type to have any of that happen to her.
This game feels like it'll be a let down, but I still want to play in the hopes that I am wrong.

so here is the thing. the first 3 chapters are amazing. But the last 2 feel like a completely different story. I still enjoyed the game, but the ending definitely needs work.
