... Read moreTraveling solo to Bangkok offers a unique sense of freedom and immersion that’s hard to match. From my personal experience staying at Oakwood Suites, the upgrade to a one-bedroom suite made my stay incredibly comfortable, which is a great tip for anyone looking for a cozy and convenient place in the city center.
When it comes to food, trying the boat noodles at Thong Smith was a highlight. Even ordering the less spicy version, I found the authentic bold flavors delivered a spicy kick, so be prepared for that delightful heat! Exploring Chinatown’s Song Wat area next allowed me to soak in the cultural vibe that has everyone talking. This rustic neighborhood is great for those who love discovering hidden gems and street food.
Despite the heat making shopping less comfortable, I managed to chill at a quaint café nearby some local shops. The coffee was just what I needed to recharge. If you visit, don’t miss out on the mango sticky rice—it’s worth a second visit since the crowd can get quite big at peak times.
A standout discovery was Easy Buddy’s holy basil fried rice with tender chicken. If you love basil like I do, this dish is a treat that brings fresh Thai flavors to life. After exploring, I indulged in some self-care with a foot massage—highly recommended after walking over 20,000 steps exploring the city on foot!
For shoppers, Antidotes offers a superb collection of perfumes. I picked up Kyoto Forest, not just because of the ambassador but for its refreshing scent that stays with you. Also, the Skin Editor brightening scrub and body lotion are gems I’ll repurchase, perfect for maintaining your skin in tropical climates.
Overall, a solo trip to Bangkok can be enriching and deeply personal, with a mix of vibrant food scenes, thoughtful shopping, and moments of relaxation that make every visit memorable.
