Happy New Year 🎊 - goals or resolutions?

Happy New Year! 🥳

This is one of my favorite days of the year! Over the past 32 hours, several people have asked about my New Year’s resolutions, which got me thinking.

I’ve realized I’m more of a realistic goals person. Goals I can take action on and actually achieve. Resolutions? They often feel like fleeting promises that barely make it past the third week of January.

So, instead of resolutions, here are my realistic goals for the year:

✨ get married

✨ declutter my apartment

✨ run a half marathon

✨ zero spend in February on unnecessary costs such as. Ubers, Ubereats, DoorDash etc

What about you? Are you team goals or resolutions?

Many people find resolutions are often temporary goals, leading to disappointment. In contrast, realistic and sustainable goals focus on actionable steps that create lasting habits. To set effective goals, consider implementing the SMART criteria (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound). For instance, instead of saying 'I want to get fit,' aim for 'I will run three times a week for 30 minutes to increase my stamina.' Additionally, sharing your goals with friends or engaging in community support can significantly boost accountability and motivation. This year, as you set your intentions, ask yourself what truly resonates with your lifestyle and values. Make your goals public and encourage others to join in your journey, creating a shared commitment. Finally, remember to revisit and reassess your goals regularly. Flexibility allows progress, helping to adjust targets if obstacles arise. Whether you choose to go with resolutions or grounded goals, the aim should always be personal growth and fulfillment.
