I was bored
Whenever I feel bored, I find it helpful to turn to my favorite things and activities, much like listing out who and what I enjoy most in life. For example, having a refreshing Dr Pepper in hand or listening to a favorite song, such as something by Dolly Parton, can instantly lift my mood. Visiting special places, whether it’s a theme park like Dollywood or a cozy local café, gives me something to look forward to. Engaging with friends, such as my best friend, can turn a dull day into an exciting one. Sometimes, simple things like picking out a favorite candy or trying a new food spice up my routine. Playing sports, even casually like softball, provides both physical activity and entertainment, which is a great boredom buster. These little joys, whether it’s enjoying a cherished drink or spending time with loved ones, help transform boredom into moments of happiness. I encourage trying to make a personal list of favorites to turn to whenever you’re feeling bored—it’s a practice that has worked well for me and can make everyday life more enjoyable and fulfilling.
