Raven went to momocon 2024

Momocon 2024 was an experience I won't soon forget – an absolute blast, just as I'd hoped! The energy and excitement of the convention were incredible, but the real highlight for me was finally getting to debut my Raven from Teen Titans cosplay. As a massive fan of the series, bringing this mysterious and powerful character to life felt like the perfect choice for this year's event. The journey to becoming Raven was a true labor of love, filled with planning and careful execution. First, there was the challenge of her signature purple hair. I opted for a high-quality, vibrant deep purple wig that perfectly captured her mystical aura, ensuring it was styled just right to frame my face. Then came the iconic hooded cloak. I spent hours sourcing the ideal dark blue fabric – something heavy enough to drape dramatically, yet comfortable enough to wear all day. Getting the seams and the hood's shape just right was crucial for achieving that flowing, mysterious silhouette Raven is known for. Of course, no Raven cosplay is complete without a nod to her powers. I really wanted to incorporate a subtle purple glow effect from within my hands, making it look like I was mid-spell as I made her classic hand gesture. This involved carefully embedding tiny, hidden LEDs that emitted a soft, ethereal light, and the effect in photos was truly magical! Alongside these elements, I meticulously crafted her belt, brooch, and other small details, paying attention to every aspect to ensure authenticity. Stepping onto the convention floor as Raven was an incredible rush. The atmosphere at Momocon is always electric, but experiencing it firsthand in full cosplay took it to another level. I loved seeing all the other amazing cosplayers, from incredibly intricate builds to hilarious group costumes – there’s such a strong sense of community and shared passion. The best part was definitely the reactions to my Raven! Getting stopped for photos, hearing enthusiastic shouts of 'Azarath Metrion Zinthos!' from fellow fans, and even meeting other Teen Titans cosplayers made all the effort worthwhile. It was fantastic to see how many people recognized and appreciated the character. For anyone thinking of cosplaying at Momocon or any convention, here are a few things I learned that really helped: comfortable shoes are an absolute MUST, even if they're hidden under your costume! Also, always carry a small emergency kit with essentials like safety pins, a mini sewing kit, and makeup for quick touch-ups. Don't be afraid to interact and pose for photos; cosplay is all about sharing your passion with others. And remember to stay hydrated, especially when you're wearing multiple layers or a heavy wig, as it can get warm on the convention floor. Finding good spots for photos, away from the main crowds, can also make a huge difference in capturing those perfect shots. Overall, Momocon 2024 was an absolute success. It wasn't just about wearing a costume; it was about embodying a character I love, connecting with a fantastic community of fellow fans and creators, and making unforgettable memories.
