You’re Missing Out if You Skip This Miami Park!
I visited Briar Bay Park for the first time and loved the peaceful vibe. It’s a quiet, family-friendly spot with many squirrels, shady trees, and a playground. Perfect for a picnic or just a walk A true local gem! #thingstodo #localfinds #miami #miamithingstodo #miamitravel
Honestly, discovering Briar Bay Park was such a breath of fresh air! When I first heard about it, I was looking for a quiet escape from the usual Miami bustle, and this park truly delivered. It's not one of those huge, sprawling parks with endless amenities like some others in the area, but that's exactly its charm. It feels more intimate and serene, making it perfect for when you just want to unwind from city life. One of the things I immediately noticed were the beautifully paved walking paths. They wind through lush greenery, offering plenty of shady spots, which is a lifesaver during Miami's sunny afternoons. Whether you're looking for a brisk walk to get your steps in or a leisurely stroll to clear your head, these paths are ideal. I loved just taking my time, enjoying the quiet, and soaking in the natural beauty. It's definitely a spot where you can truly escape the urban noise and reconnect with nature. For families, it’s a dream. There’s a wonderful, well-maintained playground that keeps the little ones entertained for hours, and the open grassy areas are perfect for kids to run around freely or for spreading out a picnic blanket. Speaking of picnics, this park is absolutely ideal for one! Pack some sandwiches, grab a refreshing drink, and enjoy a meal surrounded by the peaceful atmosphere. You’ll often see other families and couples doing just that, enjoying the simple pleasures. And oh, the wildlife! I was delighted to spot so many gray squirrels scurrying around on the benches and through the trees. They’re quite playful and add to the park's vibrant, natural charm. It’s a joy to observe them, especially if you have kids who love animals. Just remember, as the signs clearly state around the park, 'PETS NOT PERMITTED,' so unfortunately, your furry friends will need to stay home for this visit. Also, make sure to plan your visit during daylight hours, as the park is strictly 'CLOSED SUNSET TO SUNRISE' to ensure everyone's safety. To make your visit even better, I'd highly recommend going in the early morning or late afternoon to catch the best light and avoid the intense midday heat. Don't forget your water bottle, a good book if you're planning to relax on a bench, and maybe some eco-friendly bug spray, especially if you're staying closer to sunset. Parking is usually easy to find and readily available, and it's a completely free experience. It's truly a local gem that offers a different kind of Miami park experience – less about the crowds and more about genuine tranquility, simple pleasures, and a wonderful connection to nature. If you haven't been, you're really missing out on a wonderful, calming spot right here in Miami!

The squirrels there are bold! I love it, kinda feels like you're in a Disney movie. 🐿️
