Fitness Apps Worth Paying For!

So what fitness apps are actually worth paying for?

Here are a few of my favorites that I actually find helpful:

1) MyFitnessPal: I've used this app for as long as I can remember. There is a free version but the paid version unlocks barcode scanning for easier tracking as well as the access to completely customize your macros however you'd like them. I find this app totally worth it and so helpful for anyone and a fitness journey.

2) Strava: If you're into running, walking, or even biking- this app is worth the money! You're able to connect with friends, cheer each other on, track your runs/walks/bikes while also being able to search local trails! It also connects with devices such as apple watch, garmin, etc!

3) EndorphinsRunning: I love this app and it is worth the subscription if you are training for a race! It will provide you with a running plan so you are prepared for your big day. You don't need to do any thinking- it does it all for you! This also connects to the Strava app!

4) Strong: If you lift weights- this is an app I highly recommend. You can input all your exercises so that you can keep track of your weight and reps each week to ensure progressive overload! It keeps all your data stored and is super helpful for making progress.

These are 4 apps I find very worth it!

... Read moreAs someone who's constantly on the go and trying to stay on top of my fitness, I know how overwhelming it can be to figure out which apps are actually worth your hard-earned money. Beyond the basic tracking, what do these premium subscriptions really offer? Let's dive deeper into how MyFitnessPal, Strava, and Strong have become indispensable tools in my routine, especially when it comes to seeing real progress. First up, MyFitnessPal. The original article mentioned how useful it is for macro customization and barcode scanning, but the premium version truly shines when you're serious about progress tracking. I love the detailed progress screen where I can visualize my weight changes, body measurements, and even track progress photos over time. It's incredibly motivating to see those graphs change! The exercise logging feature in the paid version is so much more robust. I can log specific sets, reps, and weights, and it gives me a better estimate of burned calories. Plus, the meal logging screen for premium users offers deeper insights into nutrient timing and custom goals, making my nutrition tracking super precise. If you're like me and want to see clear data on your journey, MyFitnessPal's premium progress charts are a game-changer for understanding trends in your progress chart weight and overall body composition. Then there's Strava, a must-have if you're into running, cycling, or even serious walking. While the free version tracks your activities, the paid subscription really unlocks its potential. I often get asked about Strava's instant workouts feature – while it doesn't offer pre-programmed workouts like a dedicated training app, the premium analysis helps me understand my effort, pace zones, and fitness trends much better. This allows me to structure my own runs more effectively or see how I stack up against others on segments. The connectivity is also a huge plus; I've even heard about people looking for Fitbod Strava integration to get a comprehensive view of their strength and cardio. Being able to connect my Apple Watch or Garmin seamlessly and then dive into the detailed analytics on my iOS device makes every workout more informed. It's not just about logging miles; it's about understanding and improving your performance. Finally, for all my lifters out there, Strong is where it's at, especially on *iPhone*. The free version is great, but the Strong PRO subscription truly elevates your lifting game. I can create unlimited routines and, more importantly, access advanced analytics to ensure I'm hitting progressive overload targets. The app keeps a meticulous log of every single rep, set, and weight, allowing me to see exactly how my strength is progressing over weeks and months. It's not just a log; it's a strategic tool. The visualizations of my personal records and volume trends are incredibly motivating and help me adjust my training to avoid plateaus. If you're serious about seeing consistent gains in the gym, the insights from Strong's premium features are invaluable. In my experience, investing in these specific apps provides tangible benefits that go beyond what free versions offer. Whether you're tracking calories, crushing miles with EndorphinsRun, or pushing your limits in the weight room, the detailed insights and advanced features from these premium subscriptions can truly help you achieve your fitness goals faster and more intelligently. They turn simple logging into powerful analytical tools for self-improvement!
