My Current Go-To Makeup Routine ✨
Although I switch some of these products out, the steps are always the same.
1. Essence Fix & Last Jelly Primer - Bought this before they swapped it out for the green version and I'm dreading the day I run out 🥲. It's the best primer I've used in years. (Shout out to the original Smashbox Primerizer!)
2. Pixi H2O Skin Tint - It's newer to me but I'm really enjoying it! A skin tint that actually has some coverage. Can't forget about my favorite foundation brush: The Buffer Airbrush Finish Foundation Brush from Tarte.
3. Revlon Glimmer Brightening Concealer - The newest product in the bunch.. replaced another great Revlon concealer. Now, there is glimmer buuut it's not noticable once you apply to your under eye. Real Techniques sponge is featured but I also use Beauty Blender or Sonia Kashuk
4. Nars Crystal Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Power - The best setting powder IMO. I'm on my 3rd..or 4th. Pro Tip: Buy these at TJ Maxx for a discounted price. The setting powder brush from the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe Collab and the e.l.f. Flawless Face Brush have also been constants for years...I think I have a trifecta on my hands, honestly.
5. Patrick Ta Creme & Powder Bronzing Duo - The powder is a sheer formula so it's hard to overdue it. And the Essence Bronzer Brush honestly, just because I wanted a fluffy bronzer brush and now I'm attached to it.
6. MAC Mineralize Blush - I only dip my brush in it once because of the pigmentation. Looks BEAUTIFUL on deeper skin tones. Another Jaclyn Hill x Morphe brush.. haven't found a blush brush that compares.
7. Physicians Formula Butter Glow Pressed Powder - Another new product. I'm still forming my opinion on it but I think that's because I'm sad about losing my Champaign Pop highlighter 😭. (Am I a Jaclyn stan?)
...an Essence brush because I'm also trying to find a replacement for that too.
8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - Will. Never. By. Another. Brow Product. Maybelline The Rocket Volum(e)...I got it because I needed a quick replacement for my ABH mascara but it's growing on me!
9. e.l.f. Stay All Night Blue Light Micro-Setting Mist - So good! It dethroned my Morphe setting spray that I had been using for years!
Makeup routines can vary widely, but consistency is key in my process. I rely heavily on tried-and-true products that have proven their worth over time. For instance, a quality primer, such as the Essence Fix & Last Jelly Primer, is essential. It sets the stage for everything else, helping makeup to last longer while providing hydration. Skin tints, like the Pixi H2O Skin Tint, offer a light coverage that feels breathable, perfect for everyday wear. Concealers are another area where quality matters. The Revlon Glimmer Brightening Concealer not only covers imperfections but also adds a subtle brightness to the under-eye area, making you look fresher. Alongside concealers, setting powders play a vital role. The Nars Crystal Light Reflecting Pressed Setting Powder is a favorite for its light texture and effectiveness at locking in makeup, especially when applied with the right brush. For sculpting the face, bronzers such as the Patrick Ta Creme & Powder Bronzing Duo provide versatility, allowing for buildable warmth without looking heavy. Adding a pop of color with a pigmented blush like the MAC Mineralize Blush can elevate the whole look, providing a healthy flush. Don't forget highlighters and brow products—an Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz can create the perfect brow shape and definition, while a dependable setting spray like the e.l.f. Stay All Night Micro-Setting Mist can ensure your look stays intact all day. Each product in my makeup routine has been selected for performance, making it easier to achieve a polished appearance with minimal effort. Whether you're a beginner or a makeup pro, finding your go-to products is essential for a streamlined routine.
