Reads & thoughts
July reads! I had to slow down on my reading list because we had a lot going on this month. But still managed these 4.
I finished the “To All The Boys I Loved Before” series and I enjoyed it. I did find myself at times strongly disliking Peter. There was a lot of toxic behavior, but he is only 17 or 18. Over all, I did really like this series. 3/5 ⭐️
“Miss Benson’s Beetle” had me in tears. This book was so beautiful and moving. A true story of friendship and never giving up on your dreams no matter how crazy they seem. HOWEVER, please read the TW for this book. There are definitely some intense subjects in there. 4/5 ⭐️
“Good Material” was great! The extreme real, raw, and honest emotions and thought that is expressed after a breakup was truly fantastic and funny. I would love to see this get turned into a movie. 4/5⭐️
Reading books allows us to explore various narratives and perspectives, enriching our lives. In July, I delved into three diverse works that left a mark on my heart and mind. The series 'To All The Boys I Loved Before' brings love and teenage complexities to life. It captures the tumultuous emotions of first love and the learning experiences we face in our youth, despite the problematic behaviors of some characters. Next, 'Miss Benson's Beetle' delivered a heartwarming tale of friendship and resilience. This book emphasizes the importance of pursuing our dreams, no matter how unattainable they may seem. Its intense themes request a content warning but ultimately resonate deeply. Finally, 'Good Material' offers an honest and humorous take on post-breakup experiences, showcasing raw emotions and the relatable aftermath of heartbreak. The genuine expressions in this book make it a potential gem for movie adaptation. If you’re a fan of contemporary literature and heartfelt narratives, these titles might just inspire your next reading list.
