My Favorite Cleaning Hacks from TikTok 🫧

I’ve spent a lot of time watching cleaning videos from TikTok. I’ve tried so many - some were total catastrophes, others were okay, and a few were so good I’ve actually added them to my regular cleaning routine! I love finding new cleaning hacks like these, because they save time and are often cheaper than buying traditional cleaners. Here are my favorites I’ve tried so far from TikTok:

-Baking soda & white vinegar work great for cleaning stoves and ovens. The mixture easily cuts through grease stains!

-Rubbing alcohol on a paper towel or cloth work amazing as window cleaner, and give it a shiny finish. Also works great for car windshields.

-Borax can be used as a toilet bowl cleaner - just sprinkle some in the bowl, wait 15-30 minutes, and scrub. It works just as good as clinging gel.

-If you freeze vinegar in ice cube trays, they can be ran through your garbage disposal for instant cleaning and deodorizing

-Dryer sheets work great for dusty areas around your home, like the bottom of toilets, baseboards, even ceilings.

-Making a paste out of lemon juice & baking soda makes a strong cleaner that works great on shower mildew, sinks, and tubs. It also leaves behind a fresh scent!

All of these hacks work so good, I use them every time I clean! If you have any others you’ve learned from TikTok, I’d love to hear about them 💛

... Read moreTikTok has truly revolutionized how we approach everyday cleaning tasks by bringing creative and budget-friendly hacks right to our screens. Incorporating ingredients like baking soda, white vinegar, and lemon juice into your cleaning routine is a smart choice since they are natural, affordable, and environmentally friendly. One underrated tip is freezing vinegar in ice cube trays. These cubes can be tossed into your garbage disposal to break down buildup and neutralize odors instantly, making your kitchen smell fresh without harsh chemicals. Similarly, mixing lemon juice with baking soda not only tackles tough mildew but also leaves a pleasant citrus scent, enhancing your bathroom's ambiance. For streak-free windows and car windshields, rubbing alcohol is a game changer. Unlike some commercial cleaners that leave residues, rubbing alcohol evaporates quickly, providing a shiny, clear finish. It's also an excellent disinfectant, adding hygiene benefits to your cleaning. Using borax as a toilet cleaner is another clever hack. It’s as effective as conventional gels but often more cost-efficient and versatile for other household cleaning tasks. Dryer sheets aren’t just for laundry; their anti-static properties capture dust on baseboards, ceiling corners, and even under toilet rims, reducing allergens effectively. Beyond these hacks, it’s easy to customize your cleaning approach by testing combinations that suit your home's surfaces. Always remember to test a small area first, especially on delicate materials. These TikTok-inspired hacks encourage sustainable cleaning habits that are easy to adopt and share, turning household chores into a more enjoyable and resourceful activity.

Ok babe- I just found your account and love it but I need to break this down for you. Chemistry 101 lecture + welcome to my Ted Talk = the following Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a weak base, and vinegar (acetic acid) is a weak acid. When you mix them, they neutralize each other (acid–base reaction) forming water, carbon dioxide gas (the fizz), and a little sodium acetate (a salt). That fizz looks like “cleaning power,” but chemically it’s just gas being released, not active cleaning. Once the reaction ends, you’re mostly left with saltwater, which doesn’t have cleaning ability. Each ingredient alone can clean: Vinegar cuts through mineral deposits and soap scum because of its acidity. Baking soda scrubs and deodorizes because it’s mildly abrasive and absorbs odors. But together, they cancel each other out. It’s like sending two fighters into the ring who knock each other unconscious before the match starts
